I haven't been drawing that much again... whoops. Too many other things to do! (For example, someone commissioned another Dr. Who scarf. *head-->desk*) This is from the beginning of summer. It's still available on Etsy, also. Excuse my blatant self-promotion.

Crrrrazy scanning went on at the end of the year, because doodling once again became one of my stress-release methods during paper-writing and exam time. :P

Just hiatus'd from LJ, by choice. I've been trying to catch up with the f-list a bit though! School's out, so I've been left to my own devices (hooray) for the next two weeks or thereabouts, which means that I've been pursuing my endless hobbies with a vengeance.

Some silliness that has been keeping my roommate and I sane during the last weeks of the semester:

...where does it go? the last time I looked at the clock it was two hours ago. :P People ask me how I spend so much time by myself and I inevitably end up saying really vague things because I don't like admitting how much pleasure I get out of tooling around on with Photoshop and so on. social life? who needs a social life? I did that my first two years of college, and I'm just as happy now as I was then, and possibly less stressed in a lot of ways. (homework, of course, still has the power to make chibi-Emera sad.)

and how! Beyond the amusing comparison to Leonard Cohen, check out the exchange in the comments in which someone argues with (the real) Neil Gaiman about how his (Neil's) last name is pronounced. Also someone named Laura who just as brilliantly says "lol ur naem is gayman" also to the Real Neil. whoops. Cue many profuse apologies. What cynical fools the Internet makes of us, and how useful Google is.

Also, quoth Neil: "...people who work in SF and Comic stores always know everything, but they are mostly wrong." Yep.

It's funny how the art styles of artists who befriend each other sometimes seem to converge. I was browsing YamiNoMalik's gallery at the same time as klar's, and some of YnM's recent linework and oC work is so similar to klar's that I had to stop and check which gallery I was actually looking at. It's all the brown! Her style is more, um, prickly? though. and she actually uses colors other than brown, haha.

Aure never gets enough love from me! I doodled these sometime last year, still mean to color them up sometime, but I do like them as is, too.

Squirrel I saw, err, recumbent on the porch railing. XD It had draped itself comfortably (?) over the edge and was lying down for quite a while until I eventually startled it while taking photos. I'd never before seen a squirrel not move for that long.

This has been turning into a photoblog lately. I guess that shows 1. I take too many photos when I have the chance and 2. I love my Flickr far too much!

I was running around in a tizzy for a while, having acquired a bunch of new Tipping the Velvet and Fingersmith icons, none of which matched my existing LJ colors. :P So I finally slid into the inevitable today, and minorly redid my colors, which nicely solved the whole thing, while letting me keep the same layout. So... stupidly cheerful new icon! that still involves girls in suits and nice hats! yay!

I've edited roughly 500 photos and uploaded around 400 of them in the past 48 hours. Uff da!

I was so happy with how this came out. X3; Her foot is too small, though! The dragon actually has a name that isn't Mortimer, but I've forgotten what it is, so Mortimer is a stand-in.

By the way, since I remembered that I hadn't mentioned it at all, the biggest influence for my painting lately has been the amazing bluefooted at deviantART. Go check her out!

In general, I think it did me good to take a lot of time off of drawing for the past year or two (not that was a conscious decision - it was simply lack of time, of course) and instead spend time looking a lot of good art and photography.

I'll try to do more photoposts sometime soon! I'm so backed up on everything again, haha.

I've been wanting to catch up on posting ACEO's, so here we go. :3


Pretty silly, and I don't know what I was thinking with the dots over her eyes, but it was nice to do something quick and glowy. She was going to be all blue (as usual), but ended up pink. Go figure. (this sold yesterday, too! yays)

Since inheriting 100+ pounds (I'm not even joking kidding) of cardstock in March, I've been experimenting quite a bit with ACEO's, as much to have more stuff to sell on Etsy as to simply get myself drawing more often again. I get frustrated very easily when drawing, so it's very hard for me to finish larger pieces; thus ACEO's are perfect. I like being able to work out one idea very quickly, sort of.
