Let me know how those Meredith Ann Pierce books are. I still haven't read any but the Darkangel Trilogy.

Didn't I try to get you to read Reindeer about a hundred times? It's another of my favorite books, and has pretty similar themes, and a very well-executed Arctic setting. I didn't like Waters Luminous and Deep as much though.

EEEE You also love the Eddings books! That's awesome! I'm rereading the Mallorean right now actually. XD

Yup! A friend (who commented just above you, actually XD) lent the two series to me and I devoured them over the course of a year or two. I've largely moved on from epic fantasy, but I'd still like to own them because they were so much fun.

You're building your home out of books, aren't you? Good idea to buy building material now during the economic downturn.

Is Aquaknight the one where they ride orcas? I remember looking into that when I was first getting into manga. I love classic manga!

Haha, like Groundhog Day but Dr. Who Scarf Day? I believe it's all dry now, but I won't have a chance to photograph it until tomorrow at the earliest - sorry for the delay.

I love that you collect books for your permanent collection. One of my life's goals is to have a library, because I have so many books. No one seems to have libraries anymore!

I used to only get books from the library when I was younger, but once I started earning money of my own I turned into an inveterate collector. I can't stop - there are so many good books out there, and I love re-reading my favorites often! :)

I think many people do still have libraries, it's just that it tends to be such a private, personal thing that it doesn't exactly come up often in conversation. (how much cooler would it all be though if we all had enormous two-story galleries with ladders and fireplaces like in Beauty and the Beast, though?) Plus when you're younger you're typically in transit a lot and so it's hard to amass books and so on. But yes, it's also true that pleasure reading has been decreasing, which is a HUGE shame.
